Kann mal jemand posten, was im neuesten Update zu Return to Planet Apocalypse stand? Ist leider nur für Unterstützer einsehbar. Vielen Dank!
Makulatur wie eben immer:
„Hey all,
Sandy Petersen here. We appreciate your patience and recognize that we have tested it. What I’d like to do is present our plan for the future, so that you are privy to it. I’ve posted this as backers-only, because I’d rather keep it between us. Yes, I realize with 4000+ backers across five projects it won’t keep too secret but hey the world is what it is.
As you are doubtless aware, Petersen Games has been undergoing some stresses. We have made allies in the industry and elsewhere, and some of those allies have stepped forth to aid us. See our other posts on this topic for more detail. But here is what we are seeking to do:
Finish Fulfilling Cthulhu Wars
We’ve made great strides in fulfilling Cthulhu Wars, but work remains to be done. At this point it is mostly a matter of time. But it will be completed. Shortly before that completion, we’re going to look closely at all our other unfulfilled campaigns, including THIS one. Much of the profit we make selling the retail versions of Cthulhu Wars (beyond the backer copies) will go into a pool to help us fulfill the next campaign.
The Next Campaign
We have five campaigns yet to fulfill. In the order they were launched, these are Hyperspace, Eternal Adversary, Glorantha: The Gods War (Reprint & new expansions), Dinosaur 1944, and Return to Planet Apocalypse.
The likeliest course for us to take is to take these campaigns in order. This would mean we’d print Hyperspace first. However, with each campaign, we are going to peer over them with the Eye of Horus and see what is the fastest, most effective way to move them forward. If this means doing a campaign out of strict order, but also lets us finish the whole thing faster, we’ll do it.
However, at this time it does seem as if Hyperspace is next in line. Frankly, I have strong personal reasons to want Hyperspace next – my father, who got me into science fiction in the first place, is 95 years old(!), and I really reallywant to publish Hyperspace in time for him to see it. Even so, if the Eye of Horus’s analysis indicates that we can publish our campaigns faster by doing something other than Hyperspace next, we will. Delivery speed and product quality trumps my personal emotions in this case. But I repeat, at this time it seems highly likely Hyperspace is the next in line.
What the Future Holds
My palantir does not extend to identify which campaign follows Hyperspace. Most of you have seen my video from last year in which I said my goal was to fulfill ALL our campaigns. This is still the goal. So unless a global warming disaster or a war with China or something equally apocalyptic intervene, that’s my plan and my promise to you.
