But, for whatever reason, some people find some of the levels to be a little too challenging. In the end, I don't really want the game to frustrate you - I want you to have fun. My level of difficulty might not be the same as yours. We beat Pandemic on our second play through. We played Ghost Stories 7 times before we finally beat it. We still like Pandemic, but don't play it as often as Ghost Stories. Of course now we regularly defeat Ghost Stories even on the highest level.
But this update is about Planet Apocalypse. What if YOU want to play at a harder map, and have a chance for success. Here are some tricks you can use, in order from mildest, to strongest bonus.
Toddler) Start with more Courage in the Pool. You pick how much. If you pick a big pile of Courage, then your difficulty drops even lower though.
Infant) Start with only three Despair Dice. This may occasionally lead to resolving an Invasion Token in the early game that produces nothing. If you're willing to live with that, go for it.
Newborn) Start with the Divine Intervention token, and then replace that Divine Intervention token each time the Lord Track reaches 1. You cannot have more than one token though, so you'll have to use it.
Fetus) the final Lord is a Lesser Lord, with 1/3 normal hit points (round fractions up).
