Randnotiz: Von Cozy Powell war eine meine ersten selbst gekauften Singles als Kind, und zwar das grandiose "Dance with the Devil".
(Leider besitze ich sie nicht mehr, sie scheint wohl heute zu den Raritäten gezählt zu werden, wenn man Wikipedia glauben darf.)

Ich habe das obige Album, das zwar zeitgleich mit "Steve McQueen" aufgenommen wurde, aber erst Jahre später veröffentlicht wurde...
Das Album"Steve McQueen" steht auf meiner Suchliste, ich fand's auch interessant, dass dieses Album in den USA aUF Betreiben der Tochter von Steve McQueen so nicht heißen durfte und dort unter einem anderen Namen (= Two Wheels Good) veröffentlicht werden musste...

Ah, das „Lost Album“ -habe ich natürlich auch👍 Two Wheels hatte auch noch mindestens einen Bonus Song, aber auf der CD Version war dann alles auch drauf.

Also US-Band, Ende der 70er kam Debütalbum raus, war ein Mega Erfolg, in den USA bekam das Album Doppelplatin, die ausgekoppelte Single erreichte in den USA auch Platz 1...
dann typischer Verlauf einer Band, die gleich zu Beginn einen solchen Erfolg verzeichnen konnte, für folgenden beiden Alben könnten diesen Erfolg nicht mehr erreichen, die Band löste sich nach dem dritten Album auf ...
In späteren Jahren dann noch mehrere Versuche eines Neustarts, auch 3 weitere Alben erschienen, aber der Erfolg des Debüts könnte nie mehr getoppt oder gar erreicht werden....
Den Megahit kennt man aber auch heute noch, zu mindest wenn man sich mit der Musik der 70er beschäftigt, war ja auch in Deutschland auf Platz 12 der Charts seinerzeit....

My Sharona wurde von der damals neuen gleichnamigen Freundin vom Gitarrist und Sänger der Band inspiriert, die dann auch auf dem Cover der Single drauf war:

Ich gehe aber mal davon aus, dass du den Lückenfüller kennen dürftest, ist ja - wenn auch knapp - noch aus den 60ern...
1969 erschien die erste LP von Thunderclap Newman's LP Hollywood Dream, mit dem "Hit" Something In The Air, das könnte passen. Hatte ich mal vor Urzeiten gehört, aber es gefiel mir damals nicht und der bekannte Hit bis heute nicht. Daher habe ich das auch nicht als LP, CD oder Lieder in einer Playlist. Habe das Album gerade eben nochmal reingehört, es trifft aber immer noch nicht meinen Geschmack.

Ich weiß nicht, was Du mir sagen willst. Ja, das war ein Aufsteller, wie DiSta ja nun bereits belegt hat. Aber was hätte gegen die Annahme gesprochen, dass der Sänger sich einfach nur an dieses Gerüst gelehnt hat?
Bei mir würde da Titanic stehen, die hatten mit Sultana Anfang der 70er einen großen Erfolg.
Aber es könnte auch Tito & Tarantula sein, unvergessen ihre Musik im Film From Dusk Till Dawn
