Nope.
- "We've sent all packages!" via Twitter
- Statt Antwort auf konkrete Fragenmail: "We are confident we will send every game before the end of this week."
- First-in-first-out? Ja, nein, vielleicht, who knows.
- Problem 1: Portal schickt keine notifications.
I was told that there would be an automatic mail sent upon the shipment - we will investigate tomorrow why it is not so."
Delays are obviously never something one is happy about. Sadly, certainly in production, they seem somewhat inevitable. However, how the company deals with the delay is what truly defines how good or bad the experience is. To take an example mentioned above, Scythe was delayed, however Stonemaier Games was entirely transparent about the specifics of the delay and provided constant updates about the progress of the delay and the progress of the shipping. So while I was obviously disappointed with the delay the experience overall wasnt particularly aggravating and helped maintain (and even build some) goodwill towards Stonemaier Games. So if I pre-ordered from them or backed a KS project from them and there was a delay this goodwill would go someway towards alleviating my aggravation with the delay.
In contrast we have my pre-order experience with Portal, they didn't inform me of the delay, the didn't inform me of a new expected date, they didn't inform me of when shipping would start or how shipping has progressed. Any information available has been provided by other forumites and is frequently conflicting. All of which makes the experience of the delay more aggravating and means that I would advise others not to pre-order from Portal and won't be pre-ordering Alien Artifacts from them. Of course Portal is not compelled to inform me of any of these things, but notification of a delay beyond their advertised date and of course notification when my item ships would seem to be the bare minimum in terms of customer service.

I feel like this should be copied and pasted in every forum that complaints about shipping a luxury item.
This is a thread about the shipping of this luxury item in a forum dedicated to this luxury item on a site dedicated to discussing luxury items. Its the appropriate venue for this type of discussion. Also whether something is a luxury item or not has no bearing on how complacent one should be with poor communication and customer service. In fact in the "real world" its almost always exactly the opposite e.g. most people are significantly more concerned with the shipping of their fancy new watch then with the shipping of some cheap new shelves for the garage
