The regular season of the Internet Twilight Struggle League at The Wargameroom has ended. The results are an excellent opportunity to see if there is bias in the game. This thread is a continuation of this one, which contained less data.
Forty-seven players played a total of 256 games. Note that not all players played the same amount of games. The starting sides were determined randomly in all cases, and there was no adjustment of the starting positions or the starting score. Of the 256 games, the USSR won 162 of them (63.3%), the USA won 94 of them (36.7%), and there were two draws (0.1%).
The completion of the season demonstrates results that are almost exactly like those of the prior post (about 70% of the season was completed then). These results, when compared to prior, are also against the idea that there would be more USA victories as the season progressed due to a learning curve.
Note that the online play is exactly like face-to-face with one exception: there is a one hour time limit, with defeat occurring to the player who exceeds the limit. This might be a legitimate source of bias, on the idea that the USA takes longer to play properly. If I remember correctly, there were about five losses due to time. My sense is that most (all?) of them were USA losses.
