Das stimmt so nicht ganz. Siehe FAQ bei Kickstarter:
Will Iceborne be compatible with World?
World and Iceborne do use the same core game engine, so you can use hunters from World to fight Iceborne monsters and vice versa when doing arena quests. The power level of the Iceborne hunters and monsters is a little higher than in World so bear that in mind. The new palicos in Iceborne could also be used in your games of World. You'll already get access to the World palicoes in Iceborne as well as the new ones.
The campaigns in World and Iceborne are self-contained, so they don't support mixing and matching monsters into a single campaign. This is primarily down to the need to keep Iceborne playable for anyone who doesn't own World and because it would create a mismatch in the resourcing and equipment forging aspects of the game by mixing them. Given the game engines are the same, you could if you wanted to attempt to mix them, but it would require some homebrewing. The more you want to mix the monsters together, the more homebrewing this would require.
