The large tents
1. The problem
Those of you who pledged for the deluxe edition of Dice Settlers and received the game have noticed that purple and black tents are large, in fact too large to be properly used. This is clearly an issue, one for which you have our deepest apologies.
2. Why did this happen
This is our fault. To be more specific, we failed to properly communicate to our factory the size and shape of each tent and since the shapes were so different... this happened. We received samples from every other component and since our focus was on the dice and on the timeline, and tents were the last part to be manufactured, we overlooked checking them.
3. Short term solution
All deluxe copies have all regular components in the box, therefore each copy of Dice Settlers can be played without any issues. Also, purple tents can be easily stacked, so for 1 to 3-player games, deluxe components can be used (red, blue and purple). David has used that specific setup to test the expansion with us.
4. Long term solution
We are going to print an expansion and every copy of that expansion backed via Kickstarter will come with a set of small tents, free of charge, replacing the oversized ones. For those of you who do not want the expansion, you will be able to get just the tents for 2-3 dollars. The new small tents are going to be of the model of the current red tents and will cover every other color, as one backer suggested.
