The Exiled: Siege hatte mir in Essen nicht so gefallen.
———————————————————-
I loved the convicted. I don't love exiled. I like exiled, but the cards just add so much extra fiddly bits that are not necessary.
What exiled does better:
- You can be the attacker. Not sure I care, but you couldn't do that on convicted
- There is variability in the attacks. it is no longer a math exercise in exiled. An archer can do anywhere from 0-3 damage now.
- rulebook is better
Subjective changes
- The missions are shorter. Not a plus for me, but some will like it.
- Resources are gone. Now, you have build cards and a timer of sorts. You can build, you can recruit, but you may not get to do both.
Worse in exiled:
-so many cards to sort and go through between missions
- Doesn't have that epic feel to it
- the bosses from convicted are gone.
I read that the designer insists that convicted was a total flop and he will never touch it again, but I truly believe he had a gem. With some TLC, more scenarios, etc. that game would be awesome.
