ZitatGAME: In COMPETITIVE MODE: how does Tindaya prevent that a player that is going to lose tries to bomb the game?
This was by far the most challenging part of the development phase. Avoiding that somebody that can’t win stops contributing or even actively tries to trigger the end of the world.
The first mechanism is to avoid someone from knowing they can’t win:- The track is very short, with a small distance between players.
- Priority order is the reverse of the point’s track. The first person who can perform certain things is whoever is losing, so each era, they get a bump that reduces the gap with the rest.
- Secret objectives are scored at the very end, and they can turn against whoever seems to be wining.
Got it. But some players will prefer to bomb the game before seeing anyone else win.
Correct. In the testing phase we discovered that this happened frequently. Funnily enough, we retroactively checked that this was often done by those who would have won, but their fear of losing was enough to trigger their inner kraken.
So the next mechanism is to limit the damage they can do:
At the end of each era, if survival conditions are not met, the game ends there. But the scoring happens no matter what: if you contribute to make the game stop after eras 1 or 2, it doesn’t mean that someone else won’t win anyway. The ways you can enrage the gods on purpose are limited: Moneiba gets angry if you don’t have enough food. Acoran does so if you have too many, so it’s one or the other. If villagers die of hunger, then they won't die again for lack of shelter. Also, no matter how much you mess up, you will only enrage a god by one level. The last way to enrage the gods is by not contributing to the offerings. BUT, offerings are the main source for points, so if you don’t contribute, your fear will become a self-fulfilled prophecy.
Still, the whole point about Tindaya is that players can behave however they want, and not only that is OK, but it is fun. The way a game usually evolves with highly competitive players is from a mild collaboration at the beginning to a blood bath towards the end. On the third era, it’s actually rare that all offerings are paid. So count on it. Be ready, be afraid.
Understood. But my friend Peter is a sociopath. He kicks puppies just for fun. Is there a way to prevent him from ruining the experience for everyone?
Peter should be in prison, but yes: people that like to see the world burn should try… the Traitor variant!
By becoming a traitor, you join the conquistadors, your meeples turn grey and those in your prison get freed. Then you get a traitor mission and a special ability. The you are all set; go for it.
Warning: Make no mistake: it is HARD to win as a traitor, but it does give you a chance. Traitor mode is not recommended in your initial games of Tindaya. Traitor mode is a variant that all players need to agree upon before the start. -

Will nur meine Preiskalkulation gerne nachvollziehen)

ZitatWhat are the differences between the two editions?
The starting pledge for the Deluxe Edition includes two major upgrades: 7 plastic miniatures representing all the disasters (instead of the cardboard standees of the retail edition), and a 6-tray system that facilitates component organization and speeds up set-up (instead of a cardboard tray and zippered plastic bags in the retail edition).
As the Stretch Goals are unlocked, the differences between the two editions will broaden.
Will the Gamefound's exclusive components be available in other forms?
The miniatures will be made available to our local partners if they choose to purchase them.
There are no plans to release any other GF exclusive element in any form other than this campaign.
