This has and will obviously be asked, so here is a quick synopsis for those who have followed this games evolution.
There are three editions of the game.
1. AH edition (1998), mounted board, 96 cards, Generals with one tactical rating. Note: There is a revised version of these rules available on my website. If you have this edition, there is nothing wrong with it and it plays more or less like the later editions, so do not upgrade if you are not playing it. For the collectors out there ~1500 copies were printed and it sold out in three weeks.
2. GMT 1st edition, paper map, 110 cards, revised Generals that holds for all other editions. Note: This edition is similar to the AH edition with the addition 14 cards plus offense and defense ratings for generals. Sold out.
3. GMT 2006 edition, paper map, 130 cards, kevlar player aid. Note: This is the definitive version of the game and added 20 new cards. It has been out of print for around 2+ years.
3a. Deluxe map (heavy card stock), same graphic as 2006. Note: Besides the upgraded card stock map, this version of the rules has stood the test of time.
4. GMT 2015 reprint, identical to 2006 edition but comes with a mounted map (I believe it is identical to the one sold separately, although I do not have a copy yet to verify) and apparently upgraded counter stock plus color rules, etc. Note: The only thing really different about this reprint if you have the 2006 edition and purchased the mounted map is the rules have some minor FAQ items integrated into this version plus some c3i material. The rules are available for free download and are fully compatible with the 2006 edition. The main benefit is the upgraded components, otherwise all else the same as the 2006 edition. From a design, not a component, pov it is the same as the 2006 edition.
I hope that answers all questions around the major component differences between the various editions.
