Ein Freund von mir spielt das Tabletop Infinity von Corpus Belli aber Minis anmalen macht ihm nicht so Spaß und er ist sehr. Er meinte er müsste da jetzt trotzdem mal Farben auf die Figuren packen, da seine Mitspieler (Alles frühere 40K-Spieler) ihre Figuren bemalt hätten.
Er überlegte jetzt die Figuren einfarbig anzumalen und zu washen oder komplett mit einer Contrastfarbe zu bemalen, damit man zumindest etwas erkennen würde (Die Figuren sind aus Metall).Ich hab ihm angeboten mir eine Figur zu geben und ich würde da mal 3 Farben drauf tun und ein Wash und ihm damit zeigen, dass mit relativ wenig Aufwand schon etwas erreichen könnte.
Ich war von der Figur echt angetan. Der Detailgrad ist bemerkenswert. Und das Ganze auf nur 28mm. Mir hat das Arbeiten mit der Figur sehr viel Spaß gemacht und ich schaue jetzt doch etwas reumütig auf den beendeten Kickstarter von Infinity Defiance.
Ich hab dann neben den drei Grundfarben und dem Wash noch Schwarz, Weiß, Hautfarbe und ein Contrast Orange eingesetzte, bin aber unter einer Stunde Arbeitszeit geblieben.Eigentlich wollte ich jetzt vom Schwarmwissen Rat einholen, was man raten kann, wenn man solche Figuren (Wash funktioniert bei so vielen Details und wenig glatten Flächen natürlich super) mit wenig Aufwand anmalen will.
Prinzipiell denke ich ja, dass schwarze Grundierung für 'unmotivierte' Maler besser ist, da WIP Figuren dann schon besser auf dem Spielfeld aussehen. Aber dann sind Contrastfarben ganz raus oder?
Die Contrastfarben sollen ja unterschiedlich gut sein. Wie sehen Eure Erfahrungen mit dem Dunkelgrün aus (Seine Fraktion ist Haqislam)?
Sollte man dann besser Batch-Painting machen oder doch lieber einzeln?
Kann man direkt dunkelgrünes Spray nehmen, oder muss bei Metall zwingend vorher ein Primer eingesetzt werden?
Habt Ihr sonst vielleicht noch Tips oder Hacks?

Nachdem ich letztens eine Miniatur von Kingdom Death Monster nochmal neugestaltet habe, kam ich natürlich nicht drum herum, mir auch einmal die anderen Miniaturen der #KingdomDeathMonster Sammlung ganz genau anzuschauen.
Auch die "Starting Survivors" hatte ich damals an einem Nachmittag schnell mit Contrast-Paints zugerichtet und... irgendwie juckte es mich in den Fingern, auch diesen Miniaturen einen der Sammlung angebrachten Neuanstrich zu geben.
Dabei musste ich leider feststellen: So schön wie der Löwe, der Phönix und all die anderen Monster auch zum Teil sind: Die "starting survivors" sind alle leider ziemlich detailarm (und ab und an sogar von meinem Kumpel nicht sonderlich gut geklebt worden). Wo es bei GW oder CMON ein Leichtes ist, Details in den Gesichtern zu malen, verbleibt so manches Kingdom Death Gesicht in einer Art "Michael Myers Maske"-Gedenkzustand. Da krieg ich es einfach nicht hin, mehr rauszuholen.
Dennoch war es eine Freude, mal ganz andere Hauttöne (von Marco Frisoni auf YouTube inspiriert) mit den neubestellten Liquitex Acryltinten zu zaubern. "Raw Sienna" für die mittleren und hellen Töne, ein tiefes Violett für die Schatten. Dann ein Mix aus Acryltinten, normalen Acrylfarben, Contrast-Farben und ein paar Pigmenten -- und fertig sind die beiden Test-Miniaturen.
Zugegeben: Die beiden mag ich am wenigstens... ich dachte mir, dass, wenn ich die in einen "Hey, die sind ganz okay"-Zustand versetzen kann, dann brauch ich mir um die restlichen Überlebenden keine Sorge zu machen.
Hier mal der Vergleich zu den Contrast Miniaturen (im Vordergrund).

Nach einiger Zeit habe ich auch mal wieder etwas fertig bemalt.
Diesmal ein paar Allarus Terminatoren des Adeptus Custodes: Einen Captain, einen Standartenträger, und noch einen regulären Allarus Terminator. Letzerer wird irgendwann noch 3 weitere Terminatoren zur Seite gestellt bekommen, die müssen aber erst noch gebaut werden. Primär ging es mir hier um den Captain und den Standartenträger, das Trupp-Modell habe ich halt angemalt, weil es eben immer 3er-Boxen sind.
Im Grossen und Ganzen habe ich versucht, einen Mittelweg aus Aufwand und Ergebnis zu gehen. Einerseits sind es Custodes, die Elite der Elite des Imperiums. Auf der anderen Seite habe ich noch etliche andere Minis und Armeen, die auch Zeit wollen, deshalb will ich nicht unendlich viel Zeit in eine einzelne Mini oder Effekte versenken.
Wo ich mir noch unsicher bin ist die Base... Die Idee ist, dass sie gerade einen dem Chaos anheim gefallenen planetaren Gouverneur in seinem prunkvollen Palast zur ultimativen Rechenschaft gezogen haben und seine Existenz sowie alle Zeugen seiner Existenz annihiliert haben. Deshalb der Marmor, deshalb die Lava. Mir gefallen die Bases auch irgendwie, aber irgendwie ist es auch... ein bisschen too much. Nicht dass ich es jetzt noch ändern würde - zuviel Aufwand - aber eben: ich bin noch unschlüssig.

Die Edelsteine sind tolle Fokus-Punkte, genauso wie die weiße Kordel, die als Details von den nüchternen Rüstungen ablenken! Cool!

Eine Frage zur Basegestaltung:
Ich würde mich gerne an künstlichen Wasserflächen und Wassereffekten analog zu einigen Sorastro Painting Videos probieren. Als Produkte werden dort "Water Effects" und "Realistic Water" von Woodland Scenics empfohlen. Auf den mir bekannten deutschen Hobbyseiten hab ich das gar nicht gefunden und bei Amazon gibt es nur ersteres ziemlich überteuert. Kennt jemand eine günstige (aber funktional gleichwertige) Alternative bzw. weiß, wo man hierzulande für einen vernünftigen Preis da rankommen kann? -

Vallejo Water Effects wurde mir damals empfohlen, ich bin aber noch nicht dazu gekommen, es einzusetzen.

Ähnlich wie bei den Grey Knights sind die Rüstungen der Custodes sehr, sehr dankbare Trockenbürst-Objekte. Fast noch etwas mehr wegen der enormen Menge an Details. Das ging superschnell, und ich war danach zugegebenermassen schon versucht, die Edelsteine einfach mit Glowstone zu bepinseln...
Die Details fressen dann schon nochmal ordentlich Zeit, aber ich finde die Custodes sehr lohnende Minis zu bemalen. Vielleicht noch eine nette Ergänzung für deine Kill-Team-Sammlung?

Nach den Horror-Figuren aus "Alone" habe ich mich heute Abend dem richtig echten Horror gewidmet.
Einer abgrundtief kitschigen kleinen Figur, die meine Tochter irgendwo von irgendwem ausgegraben hat.
Nachdem sie natürlich mitbekommen hat, wie ich in den letzten Wochen immer wieder in meinem Arbeitszimmer hocke um andere Figuren anzumalen lag sie mir nun in den Ohren, diese "schöne Figur" doch auch anzumalen.
Ich weiß nicht so recht was daran am Schlimmsten war:
- Das ich mich nicht durchsetzen konnte, einfach Nein zu sagen
- Einen ganzen Abend Freizeit für dieses Ding aufzuwenden (also, das bisschen was man so hat)
- Farbe für dieses Ding zu "verschwenden"
- Dass das Ding in zwei Tagen in irgendeiner Kruschbox verschwunden ist und nimmer mehr gesehen ward (wobei: Das ist eigentlich das Beste dran)
- Das Ergebnis der moderat ambitionierten Arbeit
- Die Tatsache, dass das erste Foto meiner neuen Kamera ausgerechnet das Ding ablichten muss (zudem noch eine Fuji X100V, die ja für Ästhetik steht…)
Naja, ich schlafe eine Nacht mit Albträumen drüber.
(PS: Den Beitrag bitte nicht ganz so ernst nehmen…)

Hier is grad Malpause...nächstes Projekt ist wohl Arcadia Quest Pets. Wobei auch noch die Level 7 Omega Protocol "Extreme Prejudice" Erweiterung hier rumsteht.

So, die bei diesem Post angefangene Umgestaltung der #KingdomDeathMonster Überlebenden ist fertig.
Ich hab sie x-Mal angepackt, übersprüht, nochmal getestet, aber ich wurde nie mit den Details völlig warm. Im Gegensatz zum Gorm wollte ich nicht ewig an den Überlebenden rumschrauben und entschied mich für den bewährten Zenitlicht-/Sienna-Hautton-/Dunkelviolet-Schatten "Trick". Dazu dann thematisch zum umgestalteten Löwen passende Basen mit rostigen/sandigen Pigmenten in den Tiefen, schwarzgrünen Mitteltönen und violetten Schatten. Insgesamt eine runde Sache - auch ohne x Schichten Highlights und fehlenden Augenbemalungen. (Ich weiß auch nicht, warum ich das bei jeglichem GW-Mini ohne Probleme hinkriege, aber hier total verkrampfe. Oh, na ja... /schulterzuck)
